Following the communal crisis that engulfed Wukari in Taraba State, the Director General, Cross River State Due Process and Price Intelligence Bureau, Barr Alphonsus Ogar Eba, has provided buses with full military support to rescue and evacuate over 100 Cross State students schooling at the Federal University of Technology Wukari.
The prompt intervention excited students who were seen in queues with their luggages to board the buses in the early hours of Thursday, August 1, 2019.
Barr Ogar Eba, who quickly intervened when the distress call reached him from the crisis-riden Wukari, noted that safety of all Cross River Students is of utmost importance to the Prof Ben Ayade-led state government.
It would be recalled that authorities of the university closed down the institution on Wednesday bfollowing alleged abduction and killings of some students and staff due to the renewed Jukun/Tiv ethnic crisis.
He added that all necessary arrangements for the safe return of all the Students from the state in Wukari have been done.
He said in a brief chat that “I have provided buses to lift over 100 Cross River State students with full military escort this morning from the Federal University of Wukari. I pray they arrive home safely.”
While praying for their safe return back to the state and to their parents, Barr Ogar Eba urged the students to remain vigilant, stressing that the life every Cross River Student is very dear to His Excellency, the digital Governor, Prof Ben Ayade and that he is committed to their well being.
