TY Danjuma is worse than Saul, can’t use falsehood to defend Christians – Middle-Belt Crusaders

Published

on

The Middle Belt Conscience Guard (MBCG) has warned former Defence Minister, Lt. Gen. T.Y Danjuma (retd) to steer clear of insighting Christians with falsehood as he is “worse than Biblical Saul”.

T.Y Danjuma, a powerful and influential politician, was Chief of Army Staff in the 1970’s and Minister of Defence under President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration.

The Takun-native is widely despised for his alleged role in the massacre of Christians during his stint as Minister.

It is believed that the 80-year-old, a Christian from Taraba State, reportedly masterminded a genocide of some sort against the church in Odi, Byelsa State and Zaki Ibiam, Benue State.

In a shocking twist, however, Mr Danjuma appears to be championing the “Christian crusade” against Islamization and Fulanization.

The ex-COAS even formed an alliance with former Military Governor of Rivers State, General Zamani Lekwot (retd); and Chief Solomon Asemota, SAN, under the aegis of Nigerian Christian Elders Forum (NCEF) to challenge President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

They went as far as dragging the president to the UK parliament alleging a jihad or Islamisation agenda in the farmers-herders crisis.

However, in a counter move, the MCBG has rubbished Mr Danjuma and his allies whom they claimed held sway and helped create part of the problems that the country is struggling to contain today.

In a statement signed by its President, Prince Raymond Enero, the group were particularly critical of Danjuma who can’t suddenly become Paul on the basis fallacy after prosecuting Christians in the past.

“ We want to, for instance, task TY Danjuma to prove that this his infamous outing was not meant to promote his personal business agenda. We will like to remind the world that in spite of his newfound calling TY Danjuma has killed more Christians in single instances than all other crisis put together,” the statement reads.

“ He may want to clarify his roles in Odi, Byelsa State and Zaki Ibiam, Benue State are predominantly Christian communities when they were massacred and razed to the ground when TY Danjuma abused his position as Defence Minister.

“ Tivs are predominantly Christians and TY Danjuma as a Junkun crusader actively armed his ethnic militias that killed the Tivs in their hundreds. The bloodletting from his encouragement has not stopped till date. The genocide he authored in this regard has spread across the Mambilla Plateau axis and it not just the Tivs that are today his victims, other ethnic nationalities – irrespective of their creed and doctrine – fallen victim to the TY Danjuma brand of pogrom.

“ If TY Danjuma is this committed to preservation and improvement of Christian lives why has ne not made efforts to demobilize his militias that have continued to kill Tiv farmers in the north central of Nigeria? Why is he helping to reduce the Christian population in favour of the Muslims that he disavows with a passion?

“ A TY Danjuma that is worse than the Biblical Saul who went about persecuting Christians cannot, on the basis of lies, become Paul, a defender of Christianity. He must first renounce his disdain for Christians that are not of his ethnic stock before he can begin to acquire the capacity to protect Christians against imaginary threats. But as he is in his current state, he is not in any position to defend Christians anywhere as he.

“ To the other members of NCEF cabal, we recommend to them to audit how much of their bellyaching has to do with the directives from their former boss in the person of one time President Olusegun Obasanjo.”

The group, however, urged the Federal Government to put up necessary security measures to curtail impending tailored from T.Y Danjuma and his likes.

“ These warnings notwithstanding, we urge the Federal Government to activate the relevant security agencies for increased vigilance since APPG and the TY Danjuma cabal will do all that is in their powers to cause new rounds of violence in some parts of the country to justify their grim submission,” it stated.

“ The government must ensure that they do not get the opportunity to trigger off such event since they will use it as another made up evidence of their lies about the failure of democracy in Nigeria.”
