The Senator representing Cross River North, Dr Stephen Odey, Thursday, congratulated the Governor of Cross River State, Prof Ben Ayade, over emerging Blueprint Newspaper’s ‘Governor of the Year’.
This was contained in a congratulatory message signed by him where he described the award as well deserved and evidence of the Ayade’s patriotic and purposeful leadership driven by passion and vision that has repositioned the State for industrialization and to become an economy hub West Africa.
The statement reads in part, “I want to heartily express my joy and that of the good people of Cross River North Senatorial District I represent in the hallowed Red Chamber of the National Assembly over the well deserved prestigious ‘Award of Governor of the Year Agro-industrialisation’ conferred on our great leader and Governor of Cross River State, Prof Ben Ayade, by the Blueprint Newspaper today.
“I know this award is not just on paper but an evidence of the enormous impact made by the Governor who has been on the forefront to change the narrative in Cross River State with innovative industries that have transformed the State into an industrialized State and moving towards being an economic hub in West Africa.
“We see his administration as a blessing to the people of Cross River State as more effort is being made by him and his team to ensure the people of the state are placed on enviable height in all ramifications.”
He also acknowledged the impact of Blueprint Newspaper in Nigeria’s media industry in terms of objective reportage and also focus on development journalism, which has made Nigerians to understand that there are Governors who have been hard-working and creative to ensure the people enjoy democratic dividends.
“We sincerely acknowledge the impact of Blueprint Newspaper in Nigeria’s media industry since it came into being. Your reportage has been so objective and factual.
“We thank the Chairman and management of Blueprint Newspaper for this careful and critical selection you made before going ahead to honour our leader and selfless Governor with the prestigious ‘Governor of the Year Award’.
“This award is dear to us and we believe the Governor will deliver more of democratic dividends to the people who have given him their mandate”, he added.
