NCPC To Partner Aso Savings On Affordable Housing

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev. Tor Uja has said that the Commission would partner with Aso Savings and Loans Limited on the provision of affordable housing for the commission.

Uja stated this in his office in Abuja while playing host to the General Manager Divisional Head, Institutional Banking/Public Sector of Aso Savings and Loan Ltd, Mr. Richard Bello and his management team.

The NCPC boss stressed the need for every staff of the Commission to own their houses rather than perpetually being a tenant in someone else’s house.

In the words of Rev. Uja, “I would like Nigeria to make it mandatory for every Nigerian to have its own house”.

He stated that he would wish that all the stakeholders in the construction industry should work together to build model houses.

He called on the Management of Aso Savings and Loans Limited to join forces with the stakeholders with a view to achieving affordable housing for the people. His words, “I will like to urge you to continue the promotion of providing affordable housing for all”.

Rev. Uja informed the Aso team that the Commission is working towards building heritage Centres in Abuja and other States in Nigeria. He explained that the Centre would have a conference hall, farm land and Pilgrims Secondary School. He solicited their assistance in the area of funding and expertise to make the project realisable.

He assured the Aso Savings Team that the Commission would like to partner with them thus there was need for them to reschedule a date when they would come and demonstrate their product to all the staff.

Earlier, Mr. Richard Bello briefed the Executive Secretary on the activities of his company. He described Aso Savings and Loans Limited as a leading Mortgage Institution in Nigeria.

He explained that the houses in Abuja are beyond the reach of the average Nigeria, hence the intervention of his company to bridge the gap for the lower and middle class.

He further expatiated that the company is into mortgage finance, land acquisitions and development, Aso Housing and Agricultural programmes.

The General Manager promised to partner with the Commission to ensure that staff who are interested in the company’s offers would be encouraged and assisted.
