The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev Tor Uja has commended the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for its effective and efficient conduct of the 2016 online medical examination for medical personnel for this year’s pilgrimage exercise to Israel, Rome and Greece. He disclosed this in Abuja during a courtesy call on him by the management staff of the Board.
The NCPC boss thanked them for organizing the online medical examination for the commission for the second time. His words: “we would like to build on that relationship”.
Rev. Uja called on JAMB to also be examined on pilgrimage as the Board had been examining candidates for exams by sponsoring their Christian staff on Holy pilgrimage.
He further thanked them for all their work which according to him, “should continue and be sustained so as to improve in their service delivery”.
He explained that organizations like JAMB, Judiciary, Military and the Police should be supported by the government to enable them fulfill their mandate.
Rev. Uja equally opined that JAMB should be given the opportunity to interface with Vice Chancellors of Universities and Rectors of Polytechnics to understand more about their vision and mission”.
The NCPC helmsman further stated: “this country needs to support JAMB to bring about intellectual equilibrium”.
He stressed that JAMB must be commended for setting and conducting exams over the years.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Mr. John Okonkwo, who is the Director Quality Assurance of JAMB, stood in for the registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede who was unavoidably absent, congratulated the NCPC boss on his new appointment and pledged the support of the Board in sustaining a working relationship between the two organizations.
On the entourage of the JAMB management were majorly directors of the Board.
It will be recalled that on the 6th of August, 2016, JAMB successfully conducted the second online medical examination for medical personnel on behalf of NCPC in the six geo-political zones of the country simultaneously and released instantly by JAMB.
