NASS MEMBERS, BUSINESS MOGUL, OTHERS CELEBRATE RT HON LEGOR IDAGBO AT 49

Senators and members of the House of Representatives in the 9th National Assembly, as well as business moguls, eminent personalities, friends and family gathered on Tuesday 10th November, 2020 to celebrate Rt Hon Legor Idagbo as he clocks 49.

The celebrant, who is the House of Representatives member representing Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku Federal Constituency of Cross River State, is also the chairman, House Committee on National Local Content Development and Monitoring, and chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Council for Cross River North Senatorial By-election, championing the campaign train of the party’s candidate, Dr Stephen Odey.

Senators and his colleagues in the House of Representatives present include, Senators Teslim Folarin (Oyo Central), Sandy Onor (Cross River Central), Gershom Bassey (Cross River South), Hon Onofiok Luke, Hon Obinna Chidoka, Hon Chukwuemeka Ujam, Hon Victor Nwokolo amongst several others.

The celebrant was described as a thoroughbred, humble, accommodating, and an outstanding lawmaker who have distinguished himself over the years by his guests. Earlier, in his Goodwill message, the PDP Candidate in the postponed Cross River North Senatorial By-election, Dr Stephen Odey (Esq) while felicitating with him described Rt Hon. Legor as a “sound legal luminary, a man with impeccable character, an astute politician, a quintessential gentleman, a rare gem, an epitome and paragon of a leader who through diligence and hard work rose through the ranks to becoming an MP and have provided superlative services through his laudable projects and quality representation.”

On his part, the visibly exhilarated Hon Legor who was overwhelmed with the massive attendance from his colleagues and friends, expressed his sincere appreciations for the honour and emphasized that his new age will give him a better standing to give his constituents and the country an improved effective representation and dexterity in legislation.

The highpoint of the occasion was the cutting of the Birthday Cake by the celebrant. He was assisted by his dear wife Capt Cassie Idagbo, his mother, family members and guests. He had earlier used the occasion to also celebrate his Mother, Mrs Bernadette Idagbo, who turned 79 years old on November 5, 2020 with the cutting of a Birthday Cake.

Other dignitaries present include, the CEO, Loaded Global Nigeria Limited, Prince Akwaji Offiono (aka Akwase), Chairman, Cross River State Road Maintenance Agency, Hon Thomas Aruku (aka Stainless), Founder of The Akpanke Foundation, Mr Peter Akpanke, Supervisory Councilor for Finance, Budget and Investment, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon Gabriel Bravo Oluohu and his wife, Special Adviser to Gov Ben Ayade on Local Government Affairs, Hon Egbung Odama Egbung.

Also in attendance are, Barr Pius Onigah, SA to the Governor on Investment Promotion, Barr Patience Obim, SA on Print Media, Ebriku John Friday, Sir Ogar Wodah, SA to the governor on Special Education, Peter Odama, Community Relation Officer for Yala Local Government Area and other top State government functionaries.

Rt HON Legor Idagbo with Sen Teslim Folarin

Rt Hon Legor Idagbo Ochiglegor was born on 10th November 1971. He is a native of Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. He is a lawyer, and a politician currently in the Federal House of Representatives representing Bekwarra / Obudu / Obanliku Constituency.

Legor received his West African Senior Certificate Examination (WASCE) from Ikot-Ekpene Federal Government College in Cross River state. He then proceeded to higher institution where he graduated with a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from the University of Calabar in 1997 and attended Nigerian Law School and was called to bar in 1999.

Rt Hon. Legor Idagbo worked at the Federal Ministry of Justice (Nigeria) (1999-2000) and also served as the Chairman of Bekwarra Local Government (2007-2012). He was later appointed commissioner of works in Cross River State(2012-2014).

In 2015, he was elected to represent Bekwarra / Obudu / Obanliku Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and was re-elected in 2019.

He is married to a beautiful wife and blessed with three children which include two boys and a girl.
