As voting for Governorship and State House of Assembly elections continue across the country, Senator Rose Okoji Oko, representing Cross North in the National Assembly has declared that the People Democratic Party (PDP) will be returned in Cross River State.
Senator Oko, who stated this while addressing journalists after casting her votes at Christ the King Primary School Polling Unit in Okpoma, Yala local government areas in the state, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for a better outing in today’s elections.
The re-elected Senator noted that the Saturday’s Governorship and State Assembly election was going on peacefully and orderly and that it started a bit early, a departure from the February 23 Presidential and National Assembly Elections, which according to her was ‘extremely rowdy’.
She said, “Today distribution was done on time. I could have been a bit earlier because by 7am INEC have finished distribution of electoral materials, so when it got to the RAC centres, they should have done it faster, bur it is still faster than the last time.
“It is a bit orderly today, last time it was extremely rowdy. On the whole I will say that INEC has done better today.”
On her expectation, she said, “My expectations are that polls will go on in an overly manner and that most results will be collated and declared today.
“I am PDP, Cross River State is PDP, Yala local government is PDP, so we are hopping that we can return PDP.”
