…As Deputy Gov Rt Hon Peter Odey, Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Sylvester Agabi, Chief Martin Orim, Air Peter Ojie, Others attend Thanksgiving Mass in Calabar
The leader and founder of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) Advocates Nigeria, Rt Hon Barr Legor Idagbo sponsored a Thanksgiving Mass to express his deep and sincere appreciations to God for his political trajectory and what he has been doing in his life in general.
The visibly elated former member of parliament recounted how his political journey, which started as a secretary of council, two term chairman of council, Hon Commissioner for Works, two term member of House of Representatives and how God has been faithful to him all these past years.
He admonished the children of God to always allow God’s will to prevail in whatever their desires are, not necessary their own desires.
Barr Legor used the occasion to thank God for the life of his younger brother, Rev Fr Osang Idagbo, who is also celebrating his 18th year as a priest in God’s vineyard.
The Thanksgiving Mass which held at St Patrick’s Catholic Church Calabar, had notable personalities in attendance, including Cross River State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Peter Odey, the House of Representatives member representing the people of Obudu, Obanliku, Bekwara Federal Constituency, Hon Peter Akpanke and HoRs member representating Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency, Hon Victor Abang (aka Mature).
Others in attendance are the deputy speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly Rt Hon Sylvester Agabi, Chief Dr Peter Ojie and his dear wife, former Chief of staff to the governor Hon Chief Martins Orim and his dear wife among others.
Speaking during the the church service, Rt Hon Peter Odey, blessed God for the life of Barr Legor Idagbo, describing him as a thorough breed, who has distinguished himself in serving humanity.
He further opined that, for the Rt Hon Legor to congratulates his opponent in the just concluded election puts him above other politicians.
He prayed God to continue to show His light and shower His love on Barr Legor Idagbo.
Earlier in his remarks, the Director General of BAT Advocates Cross River State Chapter, Mr Raphael Odu while thanking God for the life of their Leader and Founder, Barr Legor Idagbo, said the action of Barr Legor is the first of it’s kind, where someone will loose election yet go round to the various LGAs of the Federal Constituency to still thank the people.
He called on the young generation of politicians to emulate this rare feat and prayed God to continue to bless the former House of Representatives Member with higher responsibilities.
It could be recalled that the two term former House of Representatives member had embarked on a ‘Thank You’tour to the three local government areas namely, Obudu, Obanliku, Bekwara of the federal constituency he represented between 2015-2023, where he thanked the people for giving him the opportunity to serve them on two consecutive occasions, stating that he’s not ungrateful even when he didn’t succeed on his third trial.
He charged them to transfer the support he enjoyed from them to his successor, Hon Peter Akpanke whom he described as his younger brother and friend irrespective of their party differences.
