With the recent outburst and bashing by the former Lagos State Governor and stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the New Initiative for Credible Leadership (NICreL ) has berated the words of the his utterance and perception about the Minister of State, Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachukwu.
This was contained in a statement signed by the National Coordinator, NICreL, Rev Steven Onwu, where he said that Tinubu demonstrate his experience of governance and experience by proffering solution to the challenge of fuel scarcity instead of playing to the gallery with the theoretical postulations in his statement titled ‘Kachikwu Needs to Know That Respect and Good Performance Will Do What Magic Cannot’.
The statement pointed out that the APC’s chieftains words was a clear indication for his sheer disregard for the person and office of the Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by publicly attacking Kachikwu since he( Tinubu) could not impose his will on President Muhammadu Buhari.
The group also said Tinubu’s statement also indicts him by alleging that Kachikwu was playing the sript of PDP which he also had dealings with the Jonathan’s administration that he maligned.
The statement reads in part: “Tinubu cannot in clear conscience exonerate himself from the atrocities committed by the Jonathan administration to which he was regularly ferreted to meet under the cover of darkness for nocturnal meetings to discuss his personal interests.
“It is common knowledge that the Lion of Bourdilon is no longer happy with the president since his attempt to populate the cabinet with his handpicked men was rebuffed by Mr President.
“If Kachikwu had been one of his proxies and puppets smuggled into the government would Tinubu had attempt to ridicule such official simply because he dared to speak the truth? We think the former Lagos state governor is trying to get at President Buhari by attacking the Minister of State of the ministry that Mr President deliberately supervises.
“We advise Tinubu to give strong thoughts to other options instead of his fixation on being the “shadow president”. The government that emerged from the 2015 general elections is more important than the political party that produced that government and how the country is run is now to be subjected to Tinubu’s wishes.”
It also urged Kachikwu not to reduce himself into being a liar simply to satisfy the whims of Tinubu’s likes but should do all that is necessary to ensure that Nigerians are no longer held hostage by those who see the oil industry as their birthright.
