The Prof Ben Ayade-led Cross River State government has concluded plans to pursue the murder case of the late Joy Odama, a 200-level student of Cross River State University of Technology (CRUTECH).
The state government revealed this through the director-general of the Cross River State Due Process and Price Intelligence, Barrister Alphonsus Ogar Eba, who led a delegation to visit the parents of the deceased and leaders of the Yala Community in Abuja, on Monday.
Eba, who conveyed the condolences of the state government to the family and the Yala community, stated further that the legal team to pursue the case will be led by Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN).
He states further that, the statement will be holding a world press conference tomorrow (Wednesday) to assure the family and the public of the government’s preparedness to pursue the murder case till justice is achieved.
The late Joy Odama was murdered in a controversial circumstance in December 2016 by one Alhaji Usman Adamu. The autopsy report by the family indicated that she died of cocaine poisoning. However, the Police claimed that she died of generator fume.
