…Says SSA on Power, Engr Emmanuel Eneji Nkpeh
As part of good governance measures for Cross Riverians and the business community towards the industrialisation thrust of the Gov Ayade Benedict, residents of the state would begin to experience better and adequate power supply.
This is in compliance with the sustained action plan of Ayade administration to strengthen and boost power supply to residents of the state.
This was made known by the Senior Special Adviser on power to the Governor, Engr Emma Nkpeh during a courtesy visit to the power plant in Calabar, to test run the
machines for supply and evacuation to Cross Riverians and the business community would begin to experience better supply of power.
With him during the inspection tour was the SA to the governor on Investment Promotion, Barr Patience Obim.
“Senator Prof Ben Ayade’s investment in power generation and distribution is yielding bountiful results.
“His Excellency is making very uncommon efforts and giant strides to make electricity available to all Cross Riverians. We intend to evacuate power to some areas in the state tomorrow from the power plant. All thanks to His Excellency, the visionary leader of our great state,” the SSA said.
The power plant in the state is a hitech infrastructure that is built to enhance the socio-economic development and industrial revolution of the administration.
Nkpeh told journalists that his visit to inspect the plant was to ascertain its readiness to evacuate power in line with the directives of His Excellency, Sen. Prof Ben Ayade.
He explained that the project will supply electricity to residents of the state capital and free the other consumers from overload and the attendant poor electricity supply.
The SSA reiterated the assurances of the governor towards the vigorous execution of the project to ensure immediate consumption by all.
Recall that the Cross River Governor, Sir Ben Ayade, has embarked on the building of a second 26 megawatts power plant, shortly after the test-run of the 23 megawatts plant at the Parliamentary Extension in Calabar.
The administration would be contributing a total of 54 megawatts of power from the parliamentary extension axis, Tinapa areas and five in Obudu
This is in line with the industrialisation thrust of his government to ensure adequate power supply in the state.
