…As “Future and Hope Scholarship foundation” committed to reverse trend
Dr Mary Ogebe of Future and Hope Scholarship Foundation, medical icon, who by dint of hard work, astute educational acumen and the grace of God, was able to overcome the challenges of limited educational opportunities to soar into great limelight as a pioneer female physician in Northern Nigeria has decried the waning support to the education of the less privilege in Nigeria.
Dr. Mary Ogebe has been a woman of courage and bravery who broke through all barriers that were considered humanly impossible, a stern disciplinarian who gave her children a godly heritage; a philanthropist who emptied her life into other lives sacrificially; a virtuous woman whose husband through her relentless support, recorded much success in his career, and a patriotic citizen who serves her Fatherland faithfully.
She said that a country can hardly experience true development when its citizens are not educated.
Dr Ogebe, stated that notwithstanding the availability of schools, there is strong and urgent need to support the less privilege through scholarship in order for them to get in-depth knowledge in their chosen field of endeavour.
She was speaking to some media practioners in Abuja on how to empower the less privilege which includes orphans and indigent persons. She opined that; She and her husband enjoyed scholarship from the government and help from individuals some of which they didn’t even know and that, she intend to support the less privilege through the “Future and Hope Scholarship Foundation”.
The projects ‘Future and Hope Scholarship Foundation’ will be part of our contributions to the development of humanity as i have been advocating for the improvement of education and empowering the less privilege in the country, knowledge resides in education.
Dr Ogebe, who disclosed that she and her family were challenged by the works of their widowed parent, the government and individual who supported them through their educational pursuit because from the background the had they didn’t stand a chance to be educated but with belief, Help came for them, she added that her family have recently agreed to support the societal less privilege.
According to her, giving back and contributing positively to the society is one of the ways to make society better and she called on individuals, corporate entities and even the government to support the less privilege in the society.
