FORMER GOV OKOWA’S ARREST: WHY IS THE EFCC IGNORING GANDUJE?

A few days ago, a coalition of over 50 anti corruption groups petitioned the EFCC seeking the immediate arrest of former Kano state governor Umar Ganduje who is currently the APC National Chairman.

These concerns didn’t just fall from the sky, they are a follow up to complaints, allegations backed with evidence of financial corruption labeled against the APC chairman dating from his days as governor of Kano State.

Upon leaving office with myriad of corruption allegations backed with evidence, the EFCC hasn’t invited, nor said a thing about Ganduje.

I’m wondering why the EFCC has ignored that of Ganduje, but has chosen to go after former Delta State governor Okowa who was the PDP Vice presidential candidate.

Recall that some days ago, the EFCC in Port Harcourt invited and detained the former Delta State governor.

One expects that the EFCC ought to be fair, just and sincere in their dealings but their actions currently contravene the principles and tenets in which the anti graft agency was formed.

The EFCC is now used as a political tool to curry shady deals of political witch-hunt and vendetta to some powerful politicians while they ignore selected individuals with high profile allegations.
