Veteran and celebrated retired Customs officer who is currently the State Security Adviser (SSA), Cross River North, Comptroller Joseph Ogbor Ochelebe has been named the National CrimeWatch Security Icon of the year.
He was honoured for his outstanding contribution and performance in the field of Security as well as lifting budding security experts to reach their desired heights.
The award was presented by the Chief of Defense Staff General Christopher Gwabin Musa, OFR, who was represented by Brigadier General Nasiru Najidanba, Defense HQ, Abuja and a host of other dignitaries present, at the 2024 National National CrimeWatch Award.
The glamorous event took place at the prestigious Nigeria National Merit Award House, Maitama. Abuja-Fct.
Speaking at the presentation of the award, the Convener said that Comptroller Ochelebe was selected following his sterling performance on security while in service and currently as State Security Adviser, Cross River North.
“The nomination follows the 2024 International Awards’ Panel of Judges Meeting where Ochelebe”s contributions were evaluated. His dedication in service, supporting security agencies and enhancing the safety of residents and businesses in Cross River State, particularly. Cross River North was noted.
According to the organizers, the awardee is deserving of the award, after due considerations on merit grounds.
“Sir, the decision to honor you for this award and is anchored on your professionalism, pragmatism, patriotism, selfless service and commitment to the protection of lives and properties of persons and businesses initiatives in Cross River State, and measures that have significantly bolstered security in the State to be a credible and glamorous, showcasing the best of African security professionals”.
Ochelebe’s recognition adds to his catalogue of accolades, affirming his status as a key player in the field of security in Nigeria, while specially playing a key role in ensuring the safety and security of lives and properties in Cross River State.
Comptroller Ochelebe said: “this award is not just a recognition of past achievements but also a call to continue the vital work in making Cross River State a safer place for all. An elated Mr Joseph Ochelebe, expressed gratitude to National CrimeWatch for considering him for the award, saying that it is always a thing of joy when your own constituency acknowledges your good works, and shows appreciation.
