A former Commissioner representing Esan central on the board of EDOSOPADEC, who resigned his appointment from the Governor Obaseki led administration Prince Emmanuel Odigie has said the massive turnout of the Edo People during the campaign flag off of the All Progressive Congress yesterday in Benin City is a clear signal that the people truly are with the party’s Govnership and deputy candidates.
Speaking to newsmen in Benin City on Sunday evening he said the people have already spoken and that indicates they are fully in Support of Ize Iyamu/Gani Audu ticket under the platform of the All Progressive Congress.
Prince Emmanuel Odigie said the current Governor who is seeking re-election does not enjoy the same support because the people of Edo state do not have confidence in him and he has also not performed in the last four to give him the audacity or tenacity to seek re-election.
Prince Emmanuel Odigie appealed to the National peace accord committee head by General Abdulsalami Abubakar to work with INEC, security agencies and other stakeholders, invite the political gladiators and political parties candidates of the 14 political parties participating in the election to sign a peace accord agreement to ensure there is peace in our state. this is imperative and unprecedented because of the drum of war in Edo state. ( Heart beat of the Nation)
We saw what happened in King Square, Oba’s Palace and most recently Edo State House of Assembly.
We need peace in Edo, election is not war.
The political parties should engage in issues based campaigns.
