As the gubernatorial election draws closer a youth organisation called Concern Nigerian Youths Development Organisation (CNYDO) said with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship aspirant, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Edo State has hope.
This assertion was made by the National Coordinator, CNYDO, Comrade Joel Edegba, while assessing candidates vying to steer the affairs of the State for the next four years.
Edegba also said the politics in Edo State should not be done by a do-or-die manner while pointing out some experiences in the state.
He said: “Anything that happens in Edo State is of great importance to us in Concerned Nigeria Youths Development Organisation, CNYDO, is an organisation that is critical about development and positive minded politicians who have the people in heart and service as passion.
“We have critically examined the various political aspirants vying for the governorship seat in Edo State Government House and to be at the helm of affairs for the next four years.
“We have concluded our assessment mission on those who claim to be the best for the number one seat in Edo State. We have resolved that only Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is capable as the best Edo son among all these aspirants vying for that position.
“We have perimeters on this assessment made. We made findings without the knowing of Ize-Iyamu from the people in the state. This based on his track record and also his person.
“We unequivocally state that with Ize-Iyamu Edo State has hope again. This declaration cannot be faltered and altered because he is a man with a proven character and has passion to serve the people of the State with his wealth of experience and commitment to their plight that most Edo governors have failed to achieve.”
According to Edegba CNYDO came up with this position to let Edo people know that rapid and all encompassing development that would give them a sense of belonging lies with Ize-Iyamu.
“With unbiased position we want Edo people to understand that the right person who has them in heart is the man Ize-Iyamu, and he is a personality cherished by the grassroots people because of their faith and hope in his leadership, and also his track record speaks volume about him.
“He is not a desperate politician and we make this statement based on our secret investigation from those on the streets and grassroots, where Edo eligible voters are in large numbers and with this fact they believe he will meet their needs.
“We are not campaigning for him neither are we paid to praise sing about him but the people of Edo State who means well for the state should not allow deceivers who claim to care about them and are making noise about on the streets of Benin, Auchi, Uromi and others. Please be wise and go for Ize-Iyamu”, he stated.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had earlier in February slated September 10, 2016 for governorship election in Edo State, and as a result political gladiators are moving around the state to woo voters to give them their mandate.
