As Nigerians join the rest of the world to celebrate Easter commemorating the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ over 2000 years ago, Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Dr Rose Oko, Sunday, urged her constituents and Nigerians to emulate Christ’s sacrificial lifestyle.
Sen Oko in a statement signed said Easter celebration supposed to be a time of sober reflection and renewed commitment to sacrifice love and live peacefully with others for a meaningful and progressive society.
The statement reads in part, “Happy Easter to you all my dear constituents and fellow constituents and Nigerians.
“The Easter season reminds us of the great sacrifice of our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ and the manifest power of His resurrection on a Sunday morning resulting in great and ecstatic joy and resounding victory.
“I urge you all to learn from the love and sacrifice of Jesus and imbibe His unique ideals in your daily living and dealings.
“I also urge you all to remain committed in faith and fervent in prayers to God and support for one another for a progressive and prosperous year.”
