The Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Cross River State, Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq, JP, has called on Nigerians, especially Cross Riverians to forgive one another and show love to all like Christ did.
In a goodwill message to mark this year’s Easter celebrations by Christians worldwide, the Chairman advised Nigerians to eschew bitterness and divisive vices and embrace the virtues of Jesus Christ exemplified in his love, forgiveness and sacrifice to return the state and country to the path of glory.
“As Christians all over the world celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, I urge all Nigerians, especially Cross Riverians to forgive one another and show love to all like Christ did”, he stated.
His words, “Permit me to use this medium to express my sincere gratitude to all Cross Riverians for supporting the APC led government in Cross River State. I call on Cross Riverians to remain peaceful during and after the Easter period.”
The Chairman said that as the administration the State Governor, His Excellency, Sen Prince Bassey Otu settles down to real governance, the government is putting finishing touches to most of its projects, commissioning them would happen soon. He commended Cross Riverians and residents in the State for their support and cooperation with the Senator Otu-led administration.
Eba noted that by His death and resurrection, Jesus Christ gave Christians victory over death and liberated them from its fear, stressing that Easter was a season for the renewal of personal covenant with God and the relationship with the family, friends and neighbours.
“I pray that the peace, love, victory and joy, which the death and resurrection of Jesus brought to humanity, shall be the portion of Nigerians, particularly the good people of Cross River State”, he stated.
