...provides N500k support for NAYLOGS Week
The Yala Local Government Chairman, Elder Hon Dr Fred Okem, on Monday officially opened the first office for the National Association of Yala Local Government Students Worldwide (NAYLOGS WW) at the Yala Council Secretariat in Okpoma.
Dr Okem, who is known for his support of students, approved the allocation of the office space within the council’s administrative building. He assured Comrade Odey Heart Omagu Jr., the President of NAYLOGS WW, and his executive team that he would continue to support the progress and development of the student association.
Meanwhile the Chairman of Council has announced a N500,000 support for the NAYLOGS WW Week 2025 and briefed the student leaders on his 100 days in office achievements and what he’s currently doing to move Yala LGA forward.
While warning against violence, the students-friendly executive chairman, father and leader commended the student body for using their platform to campaign against social vices and intercommunal war in Yala LGA.
The event was part of the NAYLOGS WW Week 2025 celebrations, which also included the unveiling of a signpost at the entrance of the council office. The signpost symbolises the association’s strong presence and influence in the Yala student community.
The ceremony was attended by Dr Okem and members of his team, including Vice Chairman Hon. Chief Godwin Odama and Council Secretary Hon. Chief Stephen Ogbaji.
Earlier, Comrade Odey Heart Omagu Jr. and his team presented branded exercise books to Dr Okem, which will be distributed to schools across Yala’s 14 wards. This is part of the association’s “Supporting Child Education” initiative, which aims to empower young students in Yala LGA.
