The Special Adviser to Cross River State Governor, Sir Ben Ayade on Social Media, Chief Dr Dorncklaimz Enamhe has paid glowing respect to the late Senator Dr Rose Oko, describing her as a woman of class with a dynamic and distinct style of leadership.
The late Senator Rose Oko, before her demise on March 23 at a London medical facility, was representing Cross River Northern Senatorial District in the upper legislative chamber of the Nigerian National Assembly.
Dr Enemhe in a tribute on his Facebook wall, which he titled “Farewell, Godspeed SRO”, where he eulogised her in sterling words, noted that she remain a model worthy of emulation for our women and girls.
He said, “Remembering the super accomplished, brilliant, elegant, beautiful and well educated distinguished Senator Rose Okoji Oko PhD.
“A woman of class who prepared early and had a dynamic and distinct style of leadership.
“Who virtuously ran her home and constituency by investing in education and empowering her people, all these evident even in her quiet mien and style of not broadcasting such things.
She had a plethora of contacts which she used to form a viable network that has worked for her and her constituents home and abroad.
“I remember when I watched you speak at the inauguration of the present senate and I couldn’t help but exclaim That’s my Senator!
“It was only yesterday it properly dawned on me as I watched the Senate meet without our “Rose” which made me feel really downcast.
“Indeed, Crossrivereans have lost a rare gem. You remain a Model worthy of emulation for our women and girls. You will be forever Missed.
“May your Gentle Soul Rest In Perfect Peace, Amen.”
