The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District in the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Dr Stephen Odey has described the death of Adah Bekwarra, Chief Linus Okom as a huge loss to Cross River State in particular and Nigeria at large.
Senator Odey who expressed shock over the death of the octogenarian, said the people of Cross River North have lost a worthy and dear father.
While mourning the passage of the elder statesman, the Senator sends his condolences to the good people of Bekwarra Local Government in particular and Cross Riverians in General.
Senator Odey, said he remembered with nostalgia how the late Adah Bekwarra received him and his campaign team at his Nyanya country home and prayed for his victory at the recently concluded Cross River North Senatorial By-election.
He stated further that his death came at a time his fatherly counsel and wealth of experience was needed the most in Cross River North, Cross River State and Nigeria.
Senator Odey, assured that the ideals and notable legacies of the late Adah Bekwarra will continue to live on.
The late Adah Bekwarra, Chief Linus Okom was a man of witty character, elder statesman per excellence and an accomplished public servant of repute.
He was also a notable politician and a sound leader who distinguished himself as an exceptional leader in Cross River State.
As a worthy Christian leader in the church, he served the Lord in His vineyard and rose to the rank of the Grand Knight of the Order of St. Mulumba.
May the gentle soul personality of our late Chief Linus Okom rest in peace profound. Amen.
