The Senate in an uncommon solidarity gave the immediate past President of the Senate Senator David Mark a standing ovation as he was sworn – in for six record time as a Senator.
Senator Mark was sworn in at exactly 11 am on Wednesday in the hallowed chamber by the Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki after taking the traditional oath of office and allegiance.
Shortly after the swearing in, Senators at the plenary session rose in solidarity with Senator Mark as they took turns to hug and exchanged banners with him.
Former Senate President, Senator David Mark, exchanging pleasantry with the Senate Leader, Senator Ali Ndume after his swearing-in for the 6th record times in the Senate today, with them is the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Olusola Adeyeye.
Senator Mark had expressed appreciation to his constituents and Nigerians alike for the support and prayers that helped him win the Benue South rerun polls on Feb 20, 2016.
Senator Mark is currently the longest serving Senator in Nigeria.
