In what appears to be an official endorsement of the senatorial reelection bid of Senator Rose Okoji Oko, representing Cross River North in the upper legislative chamber, Cross Rive State Governor Ben Ayade on Saturday hailed her achievements, saying “her sterling record in public service can hardly be equalled”.
Governor Ayade who took to his official Facebook handle @Prof Ben Ayade, to commend Senator Rose said, she is among few women in politics in the country today who have proven to be exceptional.
The governor, who urged the younger females to learn from her, charged those close to her to leverage on her mentorship, adding that she has made “Cross River State very proud through her exploits and advancements”.
The governor in his Facebook post said, “The advocacy for greater participation of women in politics is, increasingly, attracting global consideration. Out of the few known women entrusted with such responsibilities, Senator Rose has proven to be exceptionally outstanding. Younger females must learn from her and for those ones close to her, they must leverage on her mentorship.
“This is why modern societies place very high premium on intelligence economy because every craft within the human milieu is the product of human intellect and societies will only boast of advancement and improvement in their cognitive content, if there are notable advancements in their collective intellectual activities.
“Senator Rose, has made Cross River State very proud through her exploits and achievements. Her sterling record in public service can hardly be equalled.”
It would be recalled that, Senator Rose who is the chairman, Senate Committee on Diaspora and Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) topped other senators in the state with seven bills and six motions to her credit and she will be seeking reelection to the senate in 2019.
