In fulfillment of his promised of providing water for his people, the State Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Cross River State, Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq, has commissioned a solar powered borehole in Echumoga community facilitated by him.
Echumoga is a community under Echumofana Ward in Yala 1 State Constituency of Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State.
While commissioning the project, he recalled the the visit of Mr Nelson Idah, who drew his attention to the water challenge of the Echumoga community and others who were injured during his defection to the APC.
In an emotional laden remarks, the State Chairman further used the occasion to pour glowing tribute to all the Echumofana ward accident victims particularly Mr Augustine Owogeka who lost one of his legs.
Alphonsus Ogar Eba further dedicated the project to the survival memory of Mr Augustine Owogeka and Eje Kurata, who were both involved in the unfortunate incident.
He said, “I want to acknowledge the young man standing here, Nelson Idah who came that evening and whispered to me that the greatest problem of Echumoga is water.
“Today I want God almighty to use this project and many more projects that would come as a prize of their gallant sacrifice.”
He thereafter declared that the water will be like a living sprint water, for the use of everybody under the supervision of the elders, women and youth of the community.
He however assured that he will be responsible for the maintenance of the borehole to guarantee it’s usefulness for many more years to come.
The commissioning, which was witnessed by notable leaders and stakeholders from Echumofana attracted the presence of Chiefs, elders as well as sons and daughters of Echumoga.
