In the spirit of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Cross River State, Alphonsus Ogar Eba esq, JP, has splashed gifts worth millons of Naira to constituents to mark one year anniversary of his late father’s burial.
Eba said he felt it is important to remember such a great father God gifted him and his family and made him who he is today.
Late Pa Emmanuel Eba Ogar (BOSS) died on December 21, 2023 in his hometown in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Items received by the people include bags of rice, cows and stipends, wrappers, sewing machine, motorcycle, cash of over N5 million and according to the APC boss, he has been doing this since 2015.
He said: “I remember in December 2022, my late father was hospital to the extent he was ordering for drinks not because he wants to drink but for other people there, and also my wife bought a lot of foodstuff to share with the people of the community, and my father advised us that we should be doing it always.
“In 2023, I was really preparing as I bought rice, and other items including keeping money for the ceremony, unfortunately, four days to Christmas that year my father passed on.
“We couldn’t go on with the celebration and the gifts for the people, so we decided to choose today, and with all my father’s wives, brothers, sisters and uncles we decided to do it today as a one year anniversary of my father’s death, and we have also done thanksgiving service in the church.
“I have been doing this over a decade, and this is one thing I enjoy so well, and having all my people, supporters, even across party lines, including the Yoruba, Ibo and Hausa communities to eat and drink also have some stipend to go home with.
“I am giving two bags of rice to each ward, bags of rice, cows and some stipends to the people.”
Meanwhile, he appreciated and commended friends and members of the community who made out time to come and be with him and his family out of their busy schedules.
The APC boss gifted a brand new motorcycle to his polling unit leader, Sunday Oko Achi, while the wife of an amputee and member of APC, Mrs Angela Owogeka, received one sewing machine and a bag of rice.
Meanwhile, the Cross River State Chairman was joined by his wife, Mrs Cecilia Ogar; Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Loaded Global, Prince Akwaji Offiono; APC Chapter Chairman for Yala Local Government Area, Mr Solomon Ogar; Hon John Odey and other stakeholders from Echumofana and across other wards in Yala LGA.
