Ahead of this year’s Christmas celebration, billed for December 25, 2023, a seasoned security expert and adviser to the Cross River State Government on Security Operations, Mr Wonor Austin Ibu on Friday visited his Itega-Okpame community, where he shared hundreds of wrappers to widows to thank them for their prayers and support.
Wonor, who is now the political leader of Itega-Okpame under Ada of O’oh Ward in Yala Local Government Area, used the visit in the yuletide season to meet with elders and youths of the community and expressed his profound gratitude for their support in the concluded 2023 general election.
He made cash donations to the elders and youth and distributed other materials to community women for their use to mark the Christmas festivities with their families and loved ones.
According to him, the women and especially the widows are my pillar of support and truly your prayers are ascending to the throne of God on my behalf. You are now my mother’s and my wives.
He urged the elders of the community to continue to pray for peace and the advancement of the community to attract government presence that would result in provision of basic amenities.
Wonor also used his visit to admonish the youth to remain peaceful and united to maintain love and respect during the yuletide season.
The highly respected and revered community chiefs and elders in excitement took turns to offer prayers of blessing for their illustrious son, who remembered them during this yuletide season.
The event ended on a fun note as the women sang and danced and all were entertained and drank with joy.
It’s indeed a season of giving…
