… Reiterates Gov Otu’s commitment to development of children

In commemorating the International Children’s Day, the Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Stephen Odey has charged parents to stop all forms of child abuse, and give attention to their proper upbringing to enable them attain their full potentials in life.
This is just as he reiterated the commitment of the State Governor, Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu to the growth and development of children across the state.
Children’s Day is celebrated annually in Nigeria as a day to honour children worldwide and for adults to reminisce about their own childhood experiences. Her Excellency, Rev Mrs Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, Wife of the Governor of Cross River State declared this year’s celebration open.
In a goodwill message the Commissioner thanked the Governor, His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, who according to him, has already started enhancing the wellbeing of Cross River Children, recently demonstrated by the free WAEC registration of 16, 301 Cross River students.
He also commended Her Excellency, wife of the Governor, Rev Mrs Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, for facilitating the supply of 50,000 books for Cross River Children among other lofty programmes for Children.
Senator Odey, received salutes from pupils and students in commemoration of the 2024 Children Day Celebration with colourful march past parade, at the UJ Esuene Stadium Calabar.
