Bayelsa State senator, Ben Murray-Bruce has stated making good his promise of supporting local business with ‘no strings endowment’ fund. The first beneficiary is Gideon Bassi.
The senator, who announced Mr Bassi on his Facebook post did not reveal the actual seed amount, to support him in his printing business.
He said, “I congratulate Gideon Bassi for winning a no strings endowment from me to fund his #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira printing business. I will continue supporting local businesses to grow with my own funds. The only way our economy can grow is if we consume more made in Nigeria products and services and the only way that can happen is if local manufacturers have funding.”
The senator, who is representing Bayelsa East in the upper legislative chamber and commonly referred to as Mr Common Sense, started his campaign for the growth of local businesses in the wake of the fallen naira with the hash tag #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira.
