Enugu based Independent Campaign Network (ICN) has dismissed insinuation that the people of Enugu State, will reelect Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, as the Governor of the State, for a second term in office, come 2019. Instead, the group revealed its assessment shows a very high possibility of the emergence of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ayogu Eze, as the next Governor of the State.
Speaking to newsmen in Enugu on Wednesday, while presenting the report of an Independent Opinion survey, conducted across the three Senatorial Districts of the State, the group’s Spokesman, Jude Ochiagha said reports from its assessments, revealed that the people of Enugu State, are unanimous in their determination, to sack the non-performing administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, from office, come 2019, against the propaganda and false impression, which has over the time, been propagated by Enugu State government and its agents, among the general public.
He explained that the era when leaders impose themselves in on the people to accept what they don’t want is over; “the people know the leadership they desire and so we believe they have seen the difference and so they would be determined to make a change of leadership in Enugu State. What is left, is for stakeholders within the APC, to further work together collectively as a unit, to ensure the landslide victory of Senator Ayogu Eze, as the next Executive Governor of the State.”
He further said their is a popular consensus, among the people of the State, for the need to salvage Enugu, from the present doldrums and poverty inflicted by the PDP administration in the State.
“If you are doing well people will vote for you, but the situation in Enugu is such, that our people are tired of the PDP’s administration in the state, owning to his lack of performance, and the unprecedented level of corruption, that has characterised its reign.”
“Every indicators have shown, that more than ever, the chances of the APC Governorship candidate, Senator Ayogu Eze, towards becoming the next Governor of the State, is now brighter than ever, and this is much anticipated by the mass of our people.”
