…AS DELEGATION FROM THE NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE VISITS
Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade’s special adviser on tourism, Hon Oko Sunday Ebeku on Monday played host to a delegation from the National Defence College in Calabar, the state’s capital.
Hon Ebeku, during the visit tasked the citizens of the state on working with the state government to harness and develop the culture and tourism potential as well as youth inclusiveness in governance for leadership development, and curb restiveness and other social vices.
The event started with lots of expectations and curiosity from the men of the Nigeria armed forces, who were on a special fact finding mission on the place of the youths in governance.
The special adviser to the governor on tourism Hon Sunday Ebeku was on ground to feed their curiosity as he made a paper presentation on the ‘Geography, History and Culture of the Cross River State People’.
The paper clearly helped the delegation to have a clear picture of the socio cultural and historic heritage of Cross River and also unravelled the depth of tourism destination bestowed on the people of the state by God Almighty.
At the end of his highly expository paper, some members of the delegation asked question, which bordered on the involvement of the youths in governance.
Mr Ebeku, responded with detail statistics of the involvement of youths in governance and also expressed appreciation to the doggedness of our amiable digital governor, Sen Prof Ben Ayade. He stated that the ripple effect of making the Youths play an integral part of governance has drastically reduced crime rate and social vice in the state, thereby making cross river state one of the most peaceful state in the country.
Furthermore, Special adviser on technical to the governor Mr Eric Akpo, who was also at the event reiterated the good effect of youth participation in governance.
He said, that has been the major secret behind the laudable achievements of his excellency the governor and no doubt he always got the support of the youths.
The event was climaxed with the presentation of a gift pack on behalf of the delegation by Maj Gen Adedigba to Hon Ebeku. And Col. AJS Gulani gave the vote of thanks.
It was indeed an inspiring time.
