The Nigeria army says it has arrested the suspected killer of Mohammed Shuwa, a retired army major-general.
Shuwa, who was the first general officer commanding the 1st division of the army, was killed in his home in Maiduguri by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on November 2, 2012.
Sani Usman, army spokesman, announced the arrest of Shuwa’s killer on his Facebook page on Monday.
“The hardworking military intelligence have grabbed the suspected killer of Major General Mohammed Shuwa (rtd),” he said.
“The commander of third brigade will parade him and brief the press in Kano shortly.”
The late Shuwa played an active role in the Nigerian civil war.
