“A Leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way” ~ John C. Maxwell.
Until the Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State endorsed Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq as its state Chairmanship candidate in Cross River State, there was confusion and palpable fear about the future of the party in the state.
The people’s desire for a humble and charismatic leadership, led to the endorsement of Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq as its preferred candidate, the ambitions of many aspirants for the Cross River State PDP Chairmanship race was a political time-bomb waiting to explode on account of the dark clouds that gathered round the permutations of most persons, until the simple, humble and charismatic Eba Esq emerged on the scene.
A charismatic politician born some 45 years ago, Eba is the current Director-General, Cross River State Due Process and Price Intelligence Bureau, where he has made a mark of efficiency in the sands of time.
Owing to his wealth of experience, he has also served as a Chairman and member of other strategic committees in the the state and federal political arena.
His laudable achievements in public life, as those who have kept a close tab on his career would readily admit, is the outcome of conscious efforts to attain personal development for leadership. After grazing from the learning pastures of prestigious institutions like the university of Abuja, University of maiduguri, Nigeria Law School and now the university of Calabar.
In a desperate search for leadership experience, at a time his peers were fiercely engaged in the pursuit of material acquisitions, Eba went further to learn the ropes of politics from the grass root . He’s today a reference point in grass root politics.
A member of the Nigerian Bar Association. A globally-recognized expert in institutional reforms, and Okadigbo of Yala Kingdom has been a regular resource person at national conferences around Nigeria where he constantly shares his thoughts on leadership, corporate political strategy and business-government interactions.
Charity, as the saying goes, begins at home. Eba is a man who has worked tirelessly as a youth to improve the lots of his People, without necessarily playing to the gallery. At various times, quite early in life, he served in many capacities.
Eba makes no pretense about transforming Cross River State PDP with a magic wand overnight. Unlike others, he counts on the support of party members and his undying passion for sustainable leadership to improve the lots of the people. A seasoned legal guru and globally acclaimed leadership trainer, this man who is instrumental to the success of Governor Ayade’s Industrial revolution in Cross River State intends to take service delivery of new heights in the party’s “leadeeship Base”. In addition to purposeful leadership,Eba has articulated a workable plan to reposition the party.
Above all, his highest selling point is his antecedent and avowed commitment to purposeful leadership and transparency in governance. For now, how he intends to achieve his dreams for Cross River State PDP is obviously more important.
In a time like this, Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq is a credible alternative in a political setting like Cross River State, his records are evidents in his political philosophy that drives home the point that PDP members are “Greater Together”. Having considered where the people find themselves now and where they ought to be, the Yala born politician of distinction has thought it wise to devise a political strategy that seeks to mobilze the people for the common good of Cross River State, regardless of their ethnic, religious and political differences.
To dwell further on his “Greater Together” Political philosophy, it is a deliberate attempt to aggregate inclusiveness in Cross River State PDP with a view to employing the benefits that flow from such a governmental arrangement, including trust, cooperation, information and reciprocity, to re-invent leadership.
Clearly, what the ambition of Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq intends to achieve is a more politically stable environment driven by increased awareness, greater participation, and the building of public trust in political leadership.
To achieve its objectives, the political inclusion agenda of Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq also promises increased opportunities for all, particularly the most disadvantaged groups and communities.
Beyond mere platitudes, Eba’s action-plan provides real solutions to the problems confronting modern political parties in recent times. On the political scene, he represents a paradigm shift in many aspects. To the admiration of his friends and close associates, Eba is not one to shut the door against a brother or neighbour on account of political differences.
Little wonder he has spent his entire political career building bridges of unity and friendship across the length and breadth of Cross River State.
Without a shadow of doubt, the man who is now fondly called OKADIGBO is the most technically equipped candidate gunning for the position of Cross River PDP Chairman in the state, an office where making correct political decisions requires sound judgment.
Unlike those without any record of achievements outside the realm of politics, the next PDP Chairman of Cross River State is a man who, having developed his mind at the highest level in the academia, understands how to use political power for public good. It was perhaps owing to his unrelenting quest for good leadership and the promotion of human rights that he established the Democratic and Leadership Initiative (Okadigbo Vanguard), a non-governmental organization which he ran successfully until his appointment as Director General of Due Process and Price Intelligence Bureau.
“The chick that would become a cock”, as the African saying goes, can be spotted the very first day it was hatched”. This is a unique opportunity for all to identify with Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq, the new face of Cross River PDP.
