The special adviser to Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade on communications and branding, Dr Dorncklaimz Enemhe, has called on youths in the state to be enterprising while waiting for their dream job, saying he used to sell Ogbono at the popular Ida Market in Okuku, Yala Local Government Area with his mother.

Dorncklaimz, who was reacting to a facebook post noted with nostalgia his growing up days, revealing that he used to sell food items such as Ogbono, Ukazi Leaves amongst others with his mum.

According to him, those experiences shaped his understanding of life and we’re part of the building blocks in his formative years.

The governor’s aide popularly known as DC, a name he was commonly called in his student activitism days, revealed that he also used to also sell Moimoi, Banana, Pear, Oranges as well Okrika stuff at the Ida Market to make ends meet.

He comments reads, “I used to sell ogbono here too with my mum, and try also to go early to open the okrika bale and buy stuff to meet up those days
“Yes I sold everything from moimoi, to banana, pear, mangoes, oranges, okazi leaves, we needed to survive.”

Dorncklaimz, an unassuming personality, is a household name in northern Cross River and indeed the entire Cross River State for his student unionism. He was the initiator of several student union groups in the state, which are still making impact today.

Speaking in the same vein, Pastor Dele Samisa said, “So you sef bin sell “gaffi” aka “Garrium sulphate.” Up garri boy! I used to take pickup loads of about 55 bags from Edo state to sell in Kaduna and Zaria for my mum way back in the early 80s after secondary school. I cut my business teeth from that experience. The Lokoja-Kaduna road was hellish to travel on back then.

“We over indulge our children nowadays that we won’t even let them learn some basic survival strategies at all. Those market experiences helped us to be streetwise and survive better than our “butter” or “ajebo” friends. Kudos to hardworking mothers.”
