Ahead of 2019 general election, Prominent youth groups in Okpoma, Voice of Okpoma and Okpoma Elite Group on Saturday declared their unalloyed support for the senatorial reelection bid of Senator Rose Okoji Oko.
Senator Oko is representing Cross River North in the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly.
The leaders of the group’s who spoke separately, hailed the senator for her sterling qualities, legislative impact and development strides through her intervention projects.
They assured that they are on ground to mobilize massive support for the Senator Dr Oko and return her to the Senate come 2019.
The groups made their declaration known, during a meeting with the CEO of Odecyn Construction Company Limited, Engr Cosmas Ekawu, in Okpoma, the headquarters of Yala LGA of Cross River State.
Speaking with the groups, Engr Ekawu, while welcoming the youths, thanked them for their support for the senator so far. He called for unity across the Yala nation for the development of the Yala people.
He said, we are one. We must unity to salvage our communities. We must not allow political interests to cause division and hatred.
Condemning the raging politics of acrimony, hate and diatribe, he urged the youth to respect leaders and show them support and prayer for the growth of the Yala nation.
The gathering of the group, was coordinated by a former councilor for Okpoma Ward, Hon Stephen Jasper Ogar.
The meeting always welcomed the presence of another youth group called the Youth Vanguard.
