As hardship bits harder over the COVID-19 lockdown, the National Chairman of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Hon Bishop Amakiri on Saturday embarked on humanitarian service where 250 vulnerable households benefited from distributions of pack of food items.
The exercise which took place at Galadimawa, a rural community in the nation’s capital city Abuja excited residence of the area.
According to him, the exercise of the food distribution to vulnerable Nigerians is his little contrubution towards ameliorate the suffering of Nigerians caused by the lockdown over Coronavirus disease otherwise known as COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the world.
He revealed that the content each of pack are five mudus of rice, five packs each of Indomie, Macaroni, Spaghetti and Maggi cubes.
He used the opportunity of the outreach to sensitise residence on the need to adhere to the established protocol to curb the spread of the deadly Coronavirus Disease.
He also urged them to maintain a life of hiegene, of regular washing hands, use of sanitisers, practising social distance, wearing of face masks, avoiding shaking of hands, use of the elbow to cover their mouth while coughing or sneezing.
While commending the financial and food items contributions by individuals and various organisations across the country, he called on highly spirited members of the party and well to do Nigerians to also join in support the needy saying that government alone can’t do it.
Hon Amakiri, whose milk of human kindness can’t be quantified assured that the outreach to the needy at this critical moment in world history will continue adding that we all must stand with each other at this time.
