In 2015 when the state was gearing up for its gubernetorial elections, everyone was curious to see who will suceed the good comerade. A series of names were called and all with solid political backgrounds. The biggest question was “WHO CAN TAKE THE GREAT EDO STATE FORWARD?” We all brought out the CV’s of potential candidates to assess the capacity.The Comerade took the state by surprise when he chose Godwin Obaseki. The leader of the states Economic Team. this sent the ruling APC into a frenzy. The party was shocked while the opposition danced. A majority of the APC nor the state had not heard about This Obaseki. The streets had thought it was a more popular Obaseki. There were so many questiones asked about this man. “WHO IS GODWIN OBASEKI AND WHERE DID HE COME FROM?”Godwin Obaseki began to speak after emerging the choice of the party. He started making his vision clear. He began to gain popularity. Soon, he spread like a wild fire. At this point in time, the entire opposition were looking for how to hurt the Godwin Obaseki campaign but came up short on all ends (thanks to a clean political history)………………….……fast forward Sept 12 2016, a Govenor was inaugurated, Godwin N Obaseki, He had done it.A new dawn, A new era  had begun. Many still pegged this gentle Governor as the regular politician (promise and fail) and an Oshiomole Patsy until he made his first statement and one of the largest, the elimination of thugry in the guise of collecting state revenue in the transportation sector. This was a day many thought will never come until it did. January 2017 and that lifestyle was a thing of the past. Then the construction revolution began, Schools, roads, Primary Helth care development, Teacher trainings, Sports development, Youth empowerment, Fight against human trafficking among others. He kept his promise and he isnt done.The employment pool has been cleaned,deepened and filled up through the most effective youth empowerment scheme in Nigeria, EDO JOBS. the edo jobs has well over 200,000 registred applicants in its database, and so far trained and paired over 80,000 individual with full & part time jobs.Godwin obaseki was nicknamed “THE WAKE AND SEE GOVENOR”. He has found a way to constantly leave the entire people of the state breathless through development that was never deemed possible in the state let alone in this timeframe. Getting the job done has been his No1 mantra and regardless of who does. his dedication to the civil service has been absolutey revolutionary. There is almost no part of the developmental chain that has not been touched in 2 1/2 years. An article is not enough to mention his accomplishments, thats too much of an insult.Godwin Obaseki answered the Question he wasnt asked. “I AM YOUR MAN”. The camera shy tecnocrat, the man with a heart of Gold, with a sense of responsibility, who is an example of what passion for the people is, a beacon of hope, a leader in fine form and a true professional has finally come to serve his people.Godwin Obaseki has changed the face of leadership in Edo state. He has set the state on an upward trigectory with his breath taking policies and development. his greatest oppositions are falling by the numbers to congratulate him on his excellence at the apex office.What was the question again?
