…As High Chief Higgins Peters play host to foreign investors in Calabar

Following resolve by the Senator Prince Bassey Otu-led administration to transform Cross River State into an investors’ hub in Nigeria, West and Central Africa with ease of doing business, Sukuk, has pledged N100 billion annually to the Cross River State Government for massive project development and others.
The disclosure of the annual N100 billion for projects in the State was made by the Managing Director of Trust Arthur, Dr Basheer Oshodi, while speaking on behalf of other investors while they were being hosted by the Founder and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Opal Group, High Chief Peters Higgins.
Oshodi also made it known that they are the country’s fund managers for Sukuk and Shelter Afrique projects.
He further assured and committed that Sukuk will be willing to give Cross River State N100 billion annually in various projects of priorities on meeting the Sukuk guidelines.
Similarly, during the very engaging and interactive meeting with investors, financiers and top government officials, other investors made various commitments of investment in different sectors of Cross River State economy.
Also the investors were pleased with the reforms carried out by the Cross River State in working assiduously to ensure the State emerges as investors’ attraction and ultimate destination, which is now being seen and attracted to by investors, basically after the inauguration of Senator Bassey Otu as the Governor of Cross River State, which had also boosted confidence in government policies and programmes that would transform the State from a civil servant State to an industrial hub in Nigeria.
While hosting them, the Opal Group boss had in attendance local and international multifaceted investors and project financiers that came visiting the State from all over the world, as the an interactive session between the investors was really engaging and insightful, which financiers, the representatives of the State Government, and the organized state private sector spoke on galvanizing resources to transform the entire State’s economy.
The Speaker, Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem; Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh; The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Emmanuel Ironbark; and other Commissioners and Director Generals were present at the epoch-making business roundtable.
