The Speaker Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Elvert Ayambem has promised to use his office to respond to issues concerning the Peace Corps in the State.
The Speaker made this known when he received the Peace Corps State commandant, Dominic Okweche, who came to pay him a courtesy visit on Wednesday.
Ayambem commended the patience and commitment of the Peace Corps in ensuring safety of the people in Cross River State and Nigeria at large.
He said, “I thank you for coming and welcome you wholeheartedly. I commend you for your patience and commitment towards the safety of the people of Cross River and Nigeria at large.
“I assure you that I will use my office and the entire Assembly to respond to issues concerning the Peace Corps.”
Earlier, Mr Okweche, in his remarks congratulated the him for becoming the Speaker of the 10th Assembly, also appreciate the him for keeping his doors open.
He appealed to the Speaker to help look into the welfare package of Peace Corps members.
