The African Arise for Change Network yesterday said it won’t delay to uncover the backers of a so called political eyewitness, Dr. Peregrino Brimah over his assaults on previous President Goodluck and some resigned military officers over the shiite emergencies in the nation.
The National President of the Group, Lady Nkechi Odoma speaking with journalists yesterday in Abuja while reacting to a review by the so called creator requiring the sack Of Buratai over Zakzaky assassination attempt and his relatives, Odoma further called on Dr Brimah to stop his crazy assaults on the individual of previous President Jonathan.
She urged him to as well sheath his sword or be ready to be disgraced.
“Buraimah should leave retired General Ihejirika alone, Dr Brimah should leave those who risked their lives to secure Nigeria alone.
“If he continues to attack these people unjustly we shall be compelled to dig up facts and expose his sponsors. It is not everyone that is making the mistake of buying into his intellectual backing for terror”
“Our hope is that the present government will take the necessary actions when we expose Brimah and his sponsors. The government of the day must not keep quiet at that point simply because it is a former President that is being harassed now”she said
“We however now know differently having seen the vehemence and the extent to which some of these elite wings of extremism will go to cripple the Nigerian state’s ability to counter the existential threats posed to all of us by fanatics.
“Sometimes this week, an otherwise illogical reasoning was been given the kind of prominence that could only have been sponsored. Our reference is specifically to an article by a self-styled observer, Dr Buraimah.
“Ordinarily, one should ignore the narrative offered by this man but the fact that the implied mischief in the opinion piece dressed up to pass as news feature was too dire to dismiss.
“Brimah apparently had his sight on former President Goodluck Jonathan but the title and wording of his piece futilely attempted to throw a cursory reader off the scent of his intended target by making it look like he was targeting the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai.
“We find it cowardly that Brimah who is the coordinator of the Every Nigerian Do Something project has to hide under the call for the sack of General Buratai to attack former President Goodluck Jonathan.
“His mischief became obvious when he added a former Army Chief, retired Lieutenant General Azubuike Ihejirika and others who put their lives on the line for the security of the nation to the list of people deserving of his venom.
“Brimah’s call for General Buratai’s sack was an afterthought as the true object of his vituperation was Dr Jonathan who had repeatedly refused to give in to the kind of blackmail that Brimah who prides himself as a so called political observer must have been aiming to score.
“He should have simply join the on-going chorus that blames Jonathan for all the ills of the world and it would be fine. But to attempt rubbishing Jonathan’s record for kicking off the fight against extremism is purely irresponsible.
“Brimah accused Jonathan, or at least a Captain SO Oku under his command, of killing the sons of Shiite leader, Ibrahim Zakzaky.
“We wonder why he failed to fully expound circumstances under which that happened. Suddenly, Jonathan’s foresight in not brooking any form of extremism in view of the Boko Haram experience is now a crime. Had members of the sect not been reminded of the supremacy of the Nigeria state way back then one can only wonder what extent their extremism would have grown to by now. Even with the enforcement of the law under Jonathan, the sect still found it possible to make an attempt on the life of a serving Army Chief.
“Our so call activist failed to see the irony in his missive. So how come a private residence happened to have a basement that helped people survive the kind of military assault he described?
“He should have been sincere to call it the bunker that it was meant to be and it takes someone that is prepared for war to have that kind of NATO class bunker in a residence.
“He is one of the kinds of blackmailers that capitalize on the panic caused by extremism to sell their lies to the public. Dr Jonathan might have lost elections and the officials that served his administration may be on the receiving end of the anti-corruption fight today but he must be commended for not allowing the Shiite Sect in Nigeria from metamorphosing into another terror group.
“We should therefore be commending his unique foresight that those propagating extremism were brought to order early enough.
“This blackmailer has failed in his several attempts to ridicule General Ihejirika when he was the COAS by fabricating tissues of lies under the guise of activism. It will seem he erroneously thinks Jonathan and Ihejirika are still in office hence the rabidity with which he continues to attack the Army as an institution.
“We therefore call on Dr Brimah to immediately stop his rabid attacks on the person of former President Jonathan. He should leave retired General Ihejirika alone. Dr Brimah should let those who risked their lives to secure Nigeria alone. If he continues to attack these people unjustly we shall be compelled to dig up facts and expose his sponsors.
