The Distinguished Senator Dr Rose Okoji Oko has expressed her utmost appreciation to all constituents of the Northern Senatorial District of Cross River State for turning out in their large number in the five local government areas to cast their votes on Saturday, February 23, 2019 and renewed her mandate for another term of four years.
The Distinguished Senator also thanked the officials of INEC and the various security agencies that participated in ensuring security during the just concluded elections and assured that she will keep her campaign promises and double her achievements in the next four years.
According to her, “It is with utmost joy that I want to sincerely appreciate God Almighty, all the leaders, stakeholders, members and supporters of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), our traditional and royal fathers and indeed the good and great people of Northern Senatorial District of Cross River State for your support and massive votes for my re-election in Saturday’s election. You all stood by me throughout this period.”
She said, “I also thank Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for being an unbiased electoral umpire, the officers and men of the various security agencies for guaranteeing security across the senatorial district for a peaceful, credible, free and fair process.
“I thank the people of Bekwarra, Obudu, Obanlike, Ogoja and Yala local government areas for their resilience and massive support for my return to the Senate for another term of four years. I will cherish this for a very long time. Thank you
“To all our women, youths, the aged and elderly people who came all out to exercise ther civic rights and stood their grounds to maintain a functional system, I thank you immensely. Your unflinching and unalloyed support, has given us this well deserved victory at the poll. And I pledge my total allegiance to you.
“To the opposition, I use this medium to thank you and call on you to join hands with me to serve our people and create the enabling environment for development and peaceful coexistence.
“I once again, want to reassure you all that I will keep our campaigns promises, double our achievements and do more for our women, youths and elders and ensure even development touches the various communities of the Senatorial District through effective and efficient representation. Also the dividend of democracy we’ve been enjoying shall be continuous.
