The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Dr Rose Oko, has lauded the visit of Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, to Cross River State.
Oko made the statement while speaking on the significance of the visit of the acting president to the state and express optimism that the visit will translate into more progress.
The senator said the state has been placed on path of industrialisation and commerce that would compete with other states in the world.
She said: “We welcome the Acting President, and want him to feel at home. The visit is really timely. We are very happy for the two-day working visit by Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, to Cross River State and it is historic, we laud his visit to our state, and is an indication that he is a leader for all.
“We are celebrating the 50th anniversary of creation of the Cross River State and as peace loving and hospitable people we believe the visit of Acting President will translate into more progress and attention from the federal government.
Meanwhile, Sen Oko has described the Governor of Cross River State, Prof Ben Ayade, champion of diversification for successfully placing the state on the path of industrialisation and commerce.
“Governor Ayade is a man of vision because he never wasted time to draw up his policies, programmes and projects to diversify the economy of the state with massive delivery of completed projects in the state.
“These programmes and projects have been the centre of the Acting President’s visit and also living proves that Cross River State is fast moving within the years of the Governor’s tenure in office.
“The Acting President has also attested to these projects as he visits the state. We want to tell the world that Cross River people are lucky to have a humble and selfless governor who has prioritised the people of the state above any interest.”
She further stated that the next two years Cross River State would be ranked among top states that has transformed into an industrialised and self reliant state based on the determination of the Governor.
