Sen Andy Uba Decries State Of Education Infrastructure In Anambra

Anambra State Senator Andy Uba, representing southern senatorial district of the state in the upper legislative chamber has lamented the pitiable state of education infrastructure across the state.

Uba, who is a top governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) expressed his disappointment while paying a routine visit to Girls High School Uga in Aguata L.G.A , one of the numerous schools he renovated recently.

The APC governorship aspirant further decried the rate of decay that almost disrupted academic activities at Girls Secondary School Uga, but for his timely intervention.

It woul be recalled that the distinguished senator had earlier renovated one-storey-building class room block for the school.

The senior and deputy senior prefects who spoke on behalf of the students thanked the senator for affording them improved and conducive learning environment by renovating their class rooms which before now was in shambles.

Also, one of the teachers who pleaded anonymity also revealed that the school had suffered some serious blows ranging from loss of shool property, flooded class rooms to even massive outflow of pupils all of which were due to the bad shape of the school roofs ans other infrastructural rot.

While thanking the the senator for always coming to their rescue, the school authority drew his attention to the uninhabitable state of the school’s hostel block that has hitherto caused the boarding students nightmares at noon especially whenever it rained.

Responding to their plight the Anambra south senator, Dr. Andy Uba promised them a better education saying that their cries are over.

He said, “The acrimony I experienced today at my visit to Girls High School Uga nearly spoiled my day. I remember itwas not long ago when I renovated the school block and made learning easy for the students, but recently my attention was called to the hostel and that really made me sad at my getting to the site.

“Education is important as well as the environment in which the knowledge is being inculcated. I nearly shed tears because of the condition I met the hostel today. If I said it was bad that’s an understatement.

“No child deserves such especially a child that is meant to learn. Psychologically it is frustrating and medically it is unhealthy. However, I count it a privilege to be in a situation where I can put the place in the order and assist the students for better learning. Therefore, without much ado I am going to make sure that the hostel is renovated and the student gratified and encouraged in their education.”
