Saraki meets Innoson Motors, harps on support for home-grown businesses
Senate President Bukola Saraki today met the group chairman of Innoson Motors, Mr Innocent Chukwuma and restate the commitment of the 8th Senate to make laws that will protect home-grown businesses.
Saraki in his Facebook post earlier today said, “Today, I met with Mr. Innocent Chukwuma, the Group Chairman and CEO of Innoson Motors. This visit was in-line with the 8th Senate’s work to make the #MadeInNigeria and the #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira campaigns more widespread.
“We have a collective responsibility to ensure that our home-grown businesses are successful. When our businesses at home flourish, we can put more of our young people to work, and increase our internally generated revenue.
“The 8th Senate will continue to work on re-examining our laws to sift out ways that we can support our domestic manufacturers and producers. We will begin this process by amending the procurement act to give our local manufacturers and producers ‘first dibs’ in the government procurement process.”
