The family of late Hon. Okubotin Dada Nabena, a former Special Assistant (SA) on Fishery in the Bayelsa state government have demanded justice from the federal government and police authority, alleging that the police authority are shielding the killers.
The family alleged that Nabena was shot dead by four policemen whom he called to help him with an armed robbery attack in the early hours of 27th February 2015 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and have swept the case under the carpet
In a statement, the family said Hon. Okubotin Dada Nabena went to Uzoba police station to report a case of an armed robbery attack and the police said they will radio SARS to go to the crime scene but refused to follow him to the place.
“He went to the spot where he was been attacked and the SARS people killed him claiming mistaken identity. Could the police be the hired killers of Hon Okubotin Dada Nabena? Why did the police trash the family petition for investigation and why has the police not offered an apology to the family to this day,” the family said.
