Pilgrimage Is A Spiritual Journey, Says Rev Okoh

The Chairman of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), The Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh has said that pilgrimage is a special journey and should be spiritual. He disclosed this during a meeting with the Executive Secretary, Rev Uja Tor Uja and his management staff in Abuja.

In the words of the chairman, “Now that pilgrimage is no longer in the hands of politicians, we can drive it to its intended destination”.

He admonished the Executive Secretary of NCPC, to be able to strike a balance as a government leader and a Christian leader considering the fact that it is not easy to combine civic responsibilities with religious duties.

The chairman stressed that his visit to the Commission was normal because he wanted to know how everyone is faring with the work of God.

Rev Okoh who is also the Primate of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion said the expectations from the church is enormous, coupled with his responsibility as the chairman of NCPC Board; hence he said he might not be available in most times at NCPC adding, “If you don’t see me bear with me”.

The chairman said he was very happy to meet with the NCPC management, According to him, “I am very happy to see all of you and I thank God for what he is doing”.

Earlier, the Rev Uja thanked the chairman for choosing on his own to visit the Commission. He urged him to visit the Commission little more often.

The chairman was warmly received at the Commission by all members of management.
