Senators from the caucus of Peoples Democratic Party {PDP} would have to meet with governors from the party before they would honour an invitation extended to them by the National Chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff.
Briefing news men at the end of a closed door meeting on Wednesday, Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, confirmed receipt of a letter from Sheriff inviting the caucus to a meeting with him at the party headquarters.
The letter is dated March 6, 2017.
Akpabio said in looking for a political solution to problems within the party; the group would first meet with and run the idea of meeting with Sheriff with the forum of PDP Governors .
He said the caucus would also meet with other organs of the party as well as the Ahmed Markafi led Caretaker Committee before it would honour the invitation from the National Chairman.
The minority leader said the caucus would explore every opportunity especially out-of-court arrangements to restore peace into the party.
It is however not clear when the meeting between Sheriff and the lawmakers is expected to take place.
