The National Assembly Service Commission has approved the appointment of Mr Mohammed Sani-Omolori as the acting Clerk to the National Assembly.
The appointment came in order to fill the vacuum created by the exit of the outgoing clerk, Salisu Maikasuwa, who is due for retirement from the public service.
The commission, in a letter signed by the Executive Chairman, Amadu Fika, conveyed the appointment and explained that the appointment would be effective from May 13 to August 15, 2016.
The commission added that it was exercising its powers according to Section 6(b) of the National Assembly Commission Act 2014.
The letter disclosed that the choice of the new Acting Clerk was arrived at after the commission held its 440th meeting on Tuesday in recognition of his hard work and dedication to duty.
