Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Okuku Ward of Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State, appointees of the state government, associates, supporters and friends on Saturday played host to the newly appointed special adviser to the digital governor, Sen Prof Ben Ayade on Tourism, Mr Oko Sunday Ebeku (aka Otolo).
The event, which was highly attended by the who is who in PDP Okuku Ward, women leaders as well as friends took place at the popular Offiono Offiono Filling Station along Okpoma Road, Okuku Yala.
Those at the event took turns to thank Governor Ayade for the appointment and eulogised the person of Mr Ebeku, popular known by both old and young as Otolo, for his loyalty, patience, wealth of experience, competence and capacity as a grassroots politicians.
The various speakers, who pledged their commitment to the industrialisation vision of the Ayade-led government, declared their unwavering support for Mr Ebeku as he settles down to work towards remodelling and harnessing the tourism potentials of Cross River State.
They also prayed that God will grant him the enabling wisdom to redefine tourism in Cross River.
Making his remarks, Mr Ebeku expressed his appreciation to his boss, Governor Ayade for finding him worthy to serve in his new capacity, even at a time, according to him, he least expected. He equally thanked the party leaders, stakeholders, government appointees and others who were on ground to receive and felicitate with him.
He assured that he will give his new assignment the best shot it deserve, in accordance with the vision of the governor and make Okuku Ward proud.
He stated further that, he will continue to work with the leadership of the party to unite members of the PDP family and to ensure victory at the polls in 2019.
A senior stakeholder in okuku ward, Mr Stephen Ogar, spoke on the need for all to work harmoniously and assiduously for victory of the PDP at the polls.
Also the Ex women leader, PDP Okuku Ward, Mrs Josephine Adamson, thanked God for the opportunity given to the newly appointee to serve in Ayade’s government and called on party members to work in unity to ensure victory for the party in the forthcoming general elections.
Another senior party stakeholder, Chief Paul Agi, in his remarks pledged his total support to Mr Ebeku that would help him succeed and declared his unalloyed support to the party that would guarantee victory in 2019.
A councilorship aspirant for Okuku ward, Ogar Joseph Offiono, in his remarks encouraged Mr Ebeku to remain steadfast and focused and prayed God to give him the enabling knowledge to carry everybody along especially the youths of Okuku ward.
Those present at the reception include chairman Tank Farm CRS and the chapter chairman NURTW Yala LGA CRS, Chief Sunday Odey Offiono (Jakpana), director, Toll Management CRS, Mr Solomon Ogar, the Director, Recreational Park Agency Governors office calabar, Elder Frank.
Others are SA to the governor on Social Relief Group CRS, Wonah Joseph Odey, SA to the governor in general service, Mike Okoni, Hon Offiono Offiono, youth leader Okps Okuku Ward, Okpe Joseph and several others.
