The leadership of the state chapters in the North West Zone of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by the National Vice Chairman (NW), Amb. Senator Ibrahim Kazaure, on Wednesday, assured the Ahmed Makarfi-led PDP National Caretaker Committee of its unflinching and unalloyed support, saying ‘we are solidly behind you’.
Kazaure, who stated this led a delegation of the party’s zonal leaders met with Makarfi an others at its temporary headquarters in Abuja. The delegation includes: Chairmen and Secretaries of Kaduna, Sokoto, Zamfara, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina and Kebbi states.
While declaring the meeting open, Senator Kazaure , pledged their unflinching support and loyalty and promised to work with the Makarfi and others to ensure the smooth running of the party.
Kazaure further assured members of the party that Makarfi is very efficient to reposition the party given his track records in Kaduna State as governor for eight years and also as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He reiterated that they are solidly behind the Caretaker Committee and trust that the committee will organize an acceptable National Convention that will elect new leaders of the party.
Responding, Makarfi said, “We give gratitude to the Almighty God that all major determination of the Case has remained positive in favour of the decision taken by the National Convention, and that it is not to say that the job is finished. In the past, I have always been saying that the path to peace and reconciliation is dialogue. Legal litigation can resolve issues on legal ground, but as brothers and sisters, there is the need to go beyond that…We will never foreclose the window of dialogue”.
The delegation also had members of the Zonal Working Committee and Ex-Officio members of the Zone in attendance .
