Nigerian UK-based Medical Doctor Shares His Experience In A New Book Titled “Before Your Next Sex”

An Epidemiologist, Surgeon, and a contemporary writer , Dr Uche Anyanwagu has described literary works as a ‘flame that ignites societal changes and a device that satirises deviant behaviors in the society.

Dr Anyanwagu made this known while interacting with book readers and Enthusiasts during his Book Tour unveiling his New Book, “Before Your Next Sex”.
When asked what inspired the new book, he said that the book is a culmination of his experiences as a Young Medical Doctor whilst trying to mirror the society.

The prolific writer also disclosed that Writing to him has been innate “writing has been part of me even as a toddler, but I can not tell specifically when I started writing.Though, right from my primary school down to my tertiary school levels, I usually pen down any thoughts or anything that captures my attention. It was during my university days that I started to compile those ideas of mine into stories”, Dr Anyanwagu stated.

Dr Anyanwagu also cited the likes of a great achiever in the space of literary works, Professor Chinua Achebe, whom he described as a ‘litrary giant’. He posited that literary works are immortal notwithstanding how long they were written and published.

Speaking on the success of his just concluded book tour which took place in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Aba and Lagos, the Epidemiologist disclosed that contrary to many views that Nigerian reading culture has improved as many are ready to read great pieces.

Speaking Further on his new book, Before Your Next Sex, he said that the book is simply “Unputdownable” adding that as a Doctor and a Lawyer it was pertinent for him educate people in his writing but in a very entertaining literary style.

He maintained that, he has no intention for dropping medicine for writing but affirmed that the two professions would be combined together. According to Dr Anyanwagu, “medicine will help me carry out more researches on health related issues in the society while literature will accord me the avenue of knowing how to treat and prescribe drugs to the society because they are what I have passion for though, sometimes I face challenges on balancing the two, he opined.
